A curious mind.

An attitude of curiosity (rather than thinking wholly negative or positive) is like having the mind of a scientist. It’s evaluative; inquisitive. It’s able to weigh possibilities while withholding the air of judgment. I strive to be better at this every day and to bring it to work with me.

Calling it like I see it (and inviting you to do the same.)

As a therapist who values gentle and honest communication, I will be open with you. And I will invite you to do the same. This requires being gentle (but very real) about what we see in the sessions. I am not afraid to explore these moments. It’s the therapy gold-mine, and it’s the birthplace of genuine connection.Thoughtful laughter embedded in self-compassion.

Owning up to our humanness and life’s moments that are beyond our control is a mark of both self-knowledge and acceptance. Reality is what it is – and still we can challenge life’s complexity with humor. I want to learn to laugh with you.

An effective, empowering approach.

Do you want to challenge negative thoughts, feel more comfortable in social settings, learn how to develop boundaries with others, or feel more serene? Each of those areas would require slightly different treatments. I’ll work with you to determine what works and empower you to make life changes on your journey.

A HUGE heart outpouring with empathy.

As much as I may want to be a tough-love warrior/therapist (which I secretly hope is true), I am only in private practice because I believe that we can all change, and I believe that personal growth matters. People deserve life cheerleaders when the going gets tough. The result is that I’m passionate and real because I truly care.
Which values do you want to bring into our sessions? Would you add anything of importance to you that I have not mentioned? I would love to hear your comments!
